A Conquest crew has just completed delivery, installation, and hook-up of a 2254 sq. ft. (210 m²) home in the northern hub city of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories (just 400 km south of the Arctic Circle). Designed by our architectural partners Hive Modular, the spacious house features a living room, dining room, kitchen, media room, and a bathroom on the main floor, with three bedrooms and two baths on the top floor. High insulation levels (R-36 in walls, R-60 in ceilings) will ensure both energy savings and resident comfort during the long, cold winters (with average temperatures of -25°C and below from December through March).
Four precision-fit modules were built over the course of 40 days in our climate-controlled facility in Altona, Manitoba, and were then transported by truck some 2800 km (1740 miles) in three days before being craned onto a poured concrete lower level (featuring a grade-level garage) built into the hillside. Installation and on-site finishing of exterior detailing took an additional seven days.
While this custom-designed, contemporary home is somewhat larger than typical Challenger models, it demonstrates dramatically the guaranteed-delivery and precision-quality advantages of our architect-designed, systems-built, modular housing solutions—conventional site-building simply can’t compare. We’ve just delivered, installed, and hooked up another 1924 sq. ft. (179 m²) energy-efficient home in Calgary. Designed by our architectural partners Hive Modular, this precision-built house features three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. High insulation levels (R-22 in walls, R-49 foam in the ceiling) will contribute considerably to ongoing resident comfort.
This could be considered the ultimate renovation—our customer moved out of their old house, moved that old structure to another site, replaced their old foundation with a new one, and then moved back into their custom-tailored new home—all within two months!
